Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SokoFlux (“SokoFlux”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the SokoFlux service at sokoflux.com, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to align with Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.

Who this covers

SokoFlux is a tool that businesses use to run their shops. There are two kinds of people whose data is involved: the shop owners and staff who sign in and use SokoFlux, and the customers of those shops whose details a shop may record (for example, the name attached to a credit sale). For data a shop enters about its own customers, the shop is the data controller and SokoFlux processes that data on the shop’s behalf.

What we collect

• Account details — the name, email address and phone number used to create and sign in to an account.
• Business data you enter — your products, prices, stock, sales, expenses, and any customer or debt details you choose to record.
• Technical data — basic logs needed to run and secure the service, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the times of requests.
• Cookies — a single sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To provide the service and keep your business’s data separate and secure.
• To support you, answer questions and set up your account.
• To manage licences, renewals and billing.
• To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security issues.
• To fix problems and improve how SokoFlux works.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use the business data you enter to advertise to you or anyone else.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers we need to run SokoFlux — for example, reputable cloud hosting and database providers — and only so they can perform those services for us. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. To provide the service, data may be stored and processed on servers located outside Tanzania; where that happens we take steps to keep it protected to the standard described here.

How we protect it

• All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
• Each business’s data is isolated so one business cannot see another’s.
• Access is controlled by role, and shop owners decide what each staff member can see and do.
• Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes, never in plain text.

How long we keep it

We keep your business’s data for as long as your account is active. After an account is closed we keep data only as long as needed to meet legal, accounting and security obligations, then delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Subject to the law, you may ask to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to receive a copy in a portable form, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at sokoflux@gmail.com. If you are a customer of a shop that uses SokoFlux, please contact that shop first, as they control their own records.

Children

SokoFlux is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes or the law requires. We will change the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will make a reasonable effort to let account holders know.
